Risk and security
Last updated October 19, 2026
Zenkai is built so your money stays in your control, and so you can see what each capsule does with it. No app can remove risk, though. Here's how Zenkai works, what can go wrong, and what you can do to keep your account secure.
Your money stays yours
- Zenkai never holds your money. Your account is a Solana wallet, and only you can approve what leaves it. Zenkai can't move, freeze or spend your money.
- If you sign in with email or Google, Privy creates your wallet and secures its key so only you can approve transactions. Zenkai never sees the key.
- If you use a wallet app like Phantom or Solflare, the key stays in that app. Zenkai only asks it to approve what you choose to do.
You see where it goes
- Every capsule names the venues your money goes to, how much is deposited there, and what could go wrong.
- Every rate is variable, a 30-day average shown after fees, and it moves with demand.
- Assets are curated. Zenkai lists dollars, SOL, bitcoin and tokenized stocks from established issuers, and nothing outside that list can be shown or swapped in the app.
What volatility means
Each capsule shows how much its value can swing:
- Low volatility: the Dollar and Euro Capsules. A dollar stays close to $1 and a euro close to €1, with what they earn on top. The Euro Capsule's value in dollars also moves with the exchange rate.
- Medium volatility: the SOL, Bitcoin and Stock Capsules. They earn on assets whose prices move, so your balance in dollars rises and falls with the market.
Volatility isn't the only risk. Every capsule also depends on the venues it uses, so even the Dollar Capsule can lose money if a lending market fails.
What can go wrong
- Prices can fall quickly, and earning on an asset doesn't protect you from that.
- Lending markets and smart contracts can have bugs or be hacked.
- Stablecoins like USDC can lose their $1 peg.
- Staked SOL tokens can trade below the SOL behind them when markets are stressed.
- Solana or the services Zenkai uses can be slow or down for a while.
Zenkai isn't a bank, and nothing here is insured. The disclaimer covers these risks in full.
Keep your account secure
- Never share your recovery phrase, private key or sign-in codes. Anyone who has them can take your money. Zenkai will never ask for them: not by email, direct message or support chat. Anyone who asks is trying to scam you.
- Back up your key and keep it hidden. If you signed in with email or Google, export your key from Account and store it offline, in a password manager or written down somewhere only you can reach. With it, you can get to your money from any Solana wallet, even if Zenkai is unavailable. If you use a wallet app, back up its recovery phrase the same way.
- Consider an account just for Zenkai. We recommend using this wallet only for Zenkai, not for other apps or sites. If you approve something harmful elsewhere, it can't reach your Zenkai money, and your history stays easy to follow. It isn't required: any Solana wallet works.
- Protect your email or Google account. If you sign in with email or Google, that account is your front door. Use a strong password and turn on two-step verification.
- Check before you approve. Zenkai only asks you to approve deposits, withdrawals, swaps and a one-time rewards message that moves no money. If an approval looks different from what you meant to do, cancel it.
- Use the real Zenkai. Bookmark the site, download the app only from the App Store or Google Play, and be wary of lookalike links and ads.
- Start small. Try a small amount first, and only put in money you can afford to see go up and down.
If something goes wrong
If you think someone has your key or recovery phrase, move your money to a new wallet right away. Blockchain transactions are final, so Zenkai can't reverse them, but we'll help however we can. Write to us at the contact address listed here before launch.
